Important information for non-governmental organizations and informal groups from Zawiercie and Myszków counties. Until May 17th, there is an open call for applications in the “Act Locally” grant program.
“Act Locally” is the name of a program funded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation, organized by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland. In the Zawiercie and Myszków counties, it is implemented by the Local Initiatives Center. Within the program, applicants can receive up to 29.7 thousand Polish zlotys, with a maximum amount of funding being 6 thousand zlotys. At least 25% of the grant amount should be a personal contribution, with 5% being a financial contribution. The remaining part can be a service, material contribution, or volunteer work.
A great advantage of the program is its openness not only to organizations with legal personality. Apart from – with a few exceptions – all associations, foundations, and other legally recognized organizations that can apply for grants, informal groups also have the opportunity to receive funding.
The program includes granting subsidies for projects that: – involve the cooperation of residents, enabling the achievement of common good goals, – arise from the specific needs of a given community, – have a clearly defined goal, well-planned activities, measurable results, and reasonable implementation costs, – involve actions that are directed at a specific group of recipients and at the same time serve the entire community, – are realized by the joint efforts of residents and local institutions, local governments, entrepreneurs, and social organizations, – skillfully and thoughtfully harness local resources – natural, social, human, and financial.
The application process for funding within the competition runs from April 17th to May 17th and is done electronically through the application generator on the website www.system.dzialajlokalnie.pl.
