Applications 800plus for the new benefit period starting from February 1st.

Parents and guardians can apply for the 800 plus benefit for the new benefit period starting on June 1st of this year until May 31st, 2025 starting from February 1st. The forms can only be submitted electronically, and the payment is made cashlessly, to a bank account. Last year, in the Silesian Voivodeship, parental benefits were granted to around 800,000 children. The total amount of benefits paid exceeded 4 billion 573 million PLN.

The parental benefit in the amount of 800 PLN (the amount in effect since January 1st of this year) is granted for each child under the age of 18, regardless of the family income. – Starting from February, ZUS begins accepting applications for the new benefit period, which will last from June 1st, 2024 to May 31st, 2025. Applications are submitted electronically, allowing them to be sent at any time of day or night, and also from outside of the place of residence, even during trips with children on holidays – informs Beata Kopczyńska, the regional spokeswoman for ZUS in the Silesian Voivodeship.

How to submit an 800 plus application to ZUS
Parents have several channels for submitting electronic applications. They can do it through the PUE ZUS profile, via online banking or the Emp@tia portal, as well as through the mZUS application, available on mobile devices (mobile phones, tablets).

To use the free mZUS application, you must first download it from Google Play and the App Store. It includes features that speed up the completion of the 800 plus application. If an application for this benefit was submitted in the previous benefit period and approved by ZUS, the parent can create an application for the new benefit period in the application. This application will be automatically filled in based on previous data. If necessary, it can always be edited.

Similar to the PUE system, if children are registered for health insurance with ZUS, the client can automatically retrieve their data (e.g. PESEL, date of birth) in the application. This means there is no need to enter them manually.

– The functions of the mZUS application greatly speed up the application completion, which can be sent quickly and conveniently via a tablet or phone. The application can also be filled out on a computer through the Electronic Services Platform (PUE) ZUS, the Emp@tia portal, and the online banking of banks – points out the spokeswoman.

Correspondence via PUE
Importantly, letters, information, and decisions regarding the 800 plus benefit are transmitted electronically through the PUE ZUS system, even if the application was submitted through online banking or the Emp@tia portal. If a parent submits an application through a bank or the Emp@tia portal and does not have a profile on PUE ZUS, the Social Insurance Institution will automatically create one based on the data provided by the client in the application.

When is the benefit paid out
Applications for determining the right to the parental benefit for the period from June 1st, 2024 to May 31st, 2025 can be submitted from February 1st, 2024. The timing of determining the right and payment of the benefit depends on the date of submitting the application with the necessary documents. – If a parent submits a correctly completed application with the required documents by April 30th, 2024, ZUS will pay out the benefit by June 30th, 2024, which means the parent will maintain the continuity of receiving the 800 plus benefit – explains the spokeswoman.
