Beach volleyball on the occasion of Myszkow Days.

The weather and other circumstances did not prevent the Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament from taking place on Saturday, September 4th. Six female teams appeared on the beach courts of the Myszków MOSiR, competing for trophies donated by the Mayor of Myszków and small gifts prepared by the Inter-school Volleyball Society AS. The competition was played in a round-robin format, with each team playing five matches of 2 sets each.

After 15 matches, with 3 ending in a tie-breaker, the tournament standings were as follows:

I. Justyna Rajca/Katarzyna Gołuchowska
II. Paulina Sowa/Monika Słabosz
III. Karolina Trepka/Paulina Zasuń
IV. Patrycja Duda/Dagmara Kaucz
V. Eliza Kwiatkowska/Paulina Grabowska
VI. Joanna Niedzielska/Kamila Wcisło

The best beach volleyball team of the tournament, Justyna Rajca and Kasia Gołuchowska /students of the volleyball class of Gymnasium 5 Myszków/, did not lose a single match. They defeated their toughest opponents /students from the Myszków High School, Paulina Sowa and Monika Słabosz/ in the decisive match with a score of 2:1 in sets 15:4, 11:15, 15:9.
The tournament was organized by MTS AS Myszków and Myszkowski MOSiR, with Krzysztof Gradzik and Marek Woliński serving as referees and the president of MTS AS overseeing the smooth conduct of the event.

We invite you to the next Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament in June 2011, on the first Saturday of the summer holidays.

Despite the record number of entries from various regions of Poland, it was not possible to hold the men’s tournament. The rainfall on Saturday night made the beach courts unsuitable for the competition in the planned timeframe. It’s a pity that the weather played a trick, as there were likely to be a record number of teams participating (12 teams had registered by Saturday, with no local teams, while typically around 6 teams participate).
