On November 18, 2024, the Eugeniusz Poniatowski Cultural Center in Drawsko Pomorskie had the honor of hosting the “Stacja Kultura” Association, which prepared an extraordinary program entitled “Beautiful world in three cups.” The event took viewers on a journey through the history of Europe, presenting the influence of three extraordinary women on the continent’s fate. The performance told the story of Marysienka Sobieska, Empress Sisi, and Isabella of Spain, giving the audience the opportunity to learn about their lasting impact on history. The narrative about these women, interspersed with operetta arias that complemented the storytelling perfectly. In a script by Lucy von Schickedantz and directed by Gina Malinowski, the story unfolded in three countries: Austria, Italy, and Spain, taking the audience on a magical journey through these European lands. Although the show depicted events spanning several centuries, it was not a traditional historical lecture. Thanks to the inclusion of gossipy threads, curiosities from those times, and operatic arias performed by the renowned tenor Marcin Naruszewicz, the whole performance was carried out in a light, charming atmosphere. Additionally, flamenco dancers from the Drawsko Cultural Center appeared on stage, bringing the audience into the Spanish atmosphere with their performance. The spectacle also featured visual accents – slides accompanying the narration, showing photos from the mentioned countries and images of historical figures, as well as coffee cups symbolizing the connection between these three women. This event, combining theater, music, and dance, fully captured the atmosphere of the times in which these extraordinary characters lived, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a historical world in an accessible and fascinating way.
