Christmas Magic on Freedom Square – Summary of the “Santa Claus Spin”

On Friday, December 6th, at 5:00 PM, the residents of Czarnków gathered at Adam Słodowy’s bench to begin the festive celebration of “St. Nicholas Day.” This magical event, titled “St. Nicholas Headspin,” immersed everyone in the atmosphere of the approaching Christmas season. The children and adults, led by Saint Nicholas, walked towards Plac Wolności. During the procession, scouts from the 4th Czarnków Scout Troop Borowi, carrying flaming torches, created a picturesque and solemn atmosphere. Among the participants were also the Mayor of Czarnków, Jacek Klimaszewski, his deputy Robert Ratajczak, and the Chairwoman of the City Council Renata Wujec. Upon reaching Plac Wolności, everyone was greeted by the Director of the Municipal Cultural Center, Jan Pertek, who set the festive mood. Then, Mayor of Czarnków Jacek Klimaszewski and Chairwoman of the City Council Renata Wujec extended warm holiday wishes to all participants, inviting them to join in the fun.

The evening was filled with attractions that provided excellent entertainment for both children and adults. The walk with Saint Nicholas created a magical atmosphere, and the youngest ones could take souvenir photos with him, bringing them much joy. The lighting of the Christmas lights on the impressive Christmas tree and the decorations around Plac Wolności charmed everyone present, creating an atmosphere full of magic and Christmas anticipation. As part of this extraordinary event, an artistic scene was presented, which gathered numerous viewers and added a unique charm to the entire evening. Animator Olivia Hanysz, in the rhythm of dance beats, warmed up children and adults, inviting them to dance together, bringing additional energy and joy. There were also games and animations that engaged the participants in joint integration activities. The Club of Honorary Blood Donors “Bloody Warriors” organized contests that were of great interest, and the bands “Płomyk” and “Zarys” from Primary School No. 2 im. Janusz Korczak, under the direction of Małgorzata Zajda, delighted with their vocal performances.

There was also a sporting element, provided by the MKS Steico Noteć Czarnków club. As part of this initiative, ball exercises were organized, attracting both children and adults to engage in physical activity together. The gastronomic stand prepared by the “Mikobabki” Rural Homemakers Circle from Mikołajew was another point of interest attracting many participants. Members of the PCT Fiat 126p Association and PRL classics proudly presented their “Maluchy,” sharing fascinating stories related to their restoration and travels.

In the largest tent, young artists showcased their artistic talents, creating true works of art that drew admiration from visitors. Sweet gifts, hot drinks, and surprises were available for all participants. Children received gifts from Saint Nicholas, and sweet gifts, hot drinks, and delicious hot soups were prepared for everyone, perfect for the chilly December evening. Thanks to the involvement of local companies and organizations, participants were greeted with numerous surprises that added a unique character to the event.

Holidays in Czarnków – a time of joy and community. “St. Nicholas Headspin” was not only an opportunity for celebration but also a moment of integration for the residents of Czarnków. Plac Wolności became a place where the magic of the holidays united people, and shared experiences are sure to stay in their memory for a long time. May the magic of the holidays accompany us all through the entire Christmas season, bringing joy, peace, and unity to our homes!

Organizers – helpers of Saint Nicholas. The idea of ​​organizing this special event originated from the initiative of the Mayor of Czarnków, Jacek Klimaszewski, and the City Council of Czarnków, who wanted to create a space for joint celebration and integration of the local community. The organization of this magical and special event was the result of the collective effort of many local institutions, associations, and companies who took on the role of Saint Nicholas’ helpers. Thanks to their involvement, residents were able to enjoy an unforgettable Christmas atmosphere that united the Czarnków community. The Municipal Cultural Center, the Sports and Recreation Center, and the Municipal Social Welfare Center served as the organizational pillar of this event.
The MKS Steico Noteć Czarnków club, the Club of Honorary Blood Donors “Bloody Warriors”, the PCT Fiat 126p Association and PRL classics, as well as local companies and institutions such as Wojciech Ławiński Transport Services, Bartosz Stawiński Optical Company, Aqua Ziem – Well Drilling, Garnek Czarnków, and Jadłodajnia Osiedlowa – Rodzinne Smaki, also joined in the collaboration.
The idea and organization of this event are proof of how the collective effort of the local community can create unforgettable moments. We thank everyone who contributed to the success of the “St. Nicholas Headspin” and the residents who participated and shared the holiday joy.
