County Labor Market Council established

The County Labor Market Council is an advisory body to the county starost in matters of local labor market policy carried out by public authorities based on dialogue and cooperation with social partners. Its term lasts 4 years and its members are appointed for this period. Yesterday, the first meeting of the County Labor Market Council took place in the Conference Room of the County Office in Czarnków, during which the newly elected members were appointed to the council. The starost of Czarnków-Trzcianka, Grzegorz Bogacz, together with the director of the County Labor Office in Czarnków, Krystyna Wawrzyniak, also presented thanks to the members who have served on the council for the past few years. The current regulations do not specify the number of CLMC members, they only indicate the bodies and organizations from which members should be appointed to the council. Representatives representing these organizations in the CLMC were selected from among the local structures of each trade union organization and employer organization operating in the county, as well as social-occupational organizations of farmers, including individual farmers’ trade unions and agricultural chambers, and non-governmental organizations dealing with the labor market issues by statute. The starost could also appoint three representatives from the bodies of local government units or academia with special knowledge and authority in the field of this council’s activity. For the term of office in the years 2024-2028, the starost of Czarnków-Trzcianka appointed the council members as follows: Bolesław Chwarścianek – representative of the Czarnków-Trzcianka county, Jan Graczyk – representative of the city and commune of Wieleń, Alina Matkowska – representative of the city and commune of Trzcianka, Krzysztof Gała – representative of the Greater Poland Chamber of Agriculture, Ryszard Woźny – representative of the Greater Poland Chamber of Crafts, Roman Bytyń – representative of the Economic Forum of the Employers’ Union of Northern Greater Poland Lewiatan, Przemysław Strutyński – representative of NSZZ “Solidarność” Region of Greater Poland, Witold Kozak – representative of the Association of Agricultural Workers “Samoobrona”, Teresa Kina – representative of the General Agreement of Trade Unions, and Piotr Kosowski – Independent Trade Union of Individual Farmers “Solidarity”. It is worth mentioning at this point that the activities of the CLMC include: inspiring initiatives aimed at full and productive employment in the county, assessing the rationality of using Labor Fund resources, giving opinions on vocational activation programs for the unemployed and periodic reports on their implementation, as well as issuing opinions on matters concerning the directions of education, vocational training in a given profession in line with the needs of the labor market. During Thursday’s meeting, a chairman and vice-chairman of the labor market council were also elected by open vote. Roman Bytyń was elected as the chairman, while Piotr Kosowski will hold the position of vice-chairman. These are two very important roles, as both gentlemen will represent the council in contacts with other bodies and institutions, which is crucial for the proper functioning of the CLMC.
