Thank you to everyone who participated in our contest. I think this experience was a great one for you. But I also want to thank you, dear Parents, because you instill in young people the highest and most important values, and one of them is certainly family – said Janusz Romaniuk, Mayor of Myszków, at the beginning of the II Edition of awarding prizes in the nationwide literary and artistic competition under the slogan “Family – the goodness of being together”.
On Saturday, May 22, the celebrations began with a holy mass in honor of the laureates and their families, held at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Leśniowska, the Patron of Families. The second part of the ceremony took place at the Municipal Cultural Center in Myszków. Beautiful poems about love by, among others, K.I.Gałczyński, Fr. J. Twardowski, or A. Mickiewicz, were recited in a spoken-musical performance by students from the Public School Complex No. 5. However, the culmination of the ceremony, led by the Director of Education, Culture, and Sport Krystyna Jasińska, was the awarding of prizes to the laureates. All the winners received Canon cameras, while the distinguished received commemorative diplomas. The awards were presented by: Member of the Polish Parliament Jadwiga Wiśniewska, Director of the Inter-County Cooperative Bank in Myszków Zofia Jakubczyk, Prior of the Leśno Sanctuary Fr. Zbigniew Ptak, and the host of the ceremony Mayor of Myszków Janusz Romaniuk. The culmination of the contest was the publication of a collection of awarded works with the awarded illustrations.
The II Edition of the contest is now part of history, however, “… we hope that the work that has been started will be continued in the coming years. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to reflect and contemplate on the family, about which Our Great Pole, Jan Paweł II wrote ‘The family is the pillar on which the whole social structure is based'” – said Mayor J. Romaniuk at the end of the book “Family – the goodness of being together”.
Organizers once again warmly thank all sponsors and those who contributed in any way to the organization, course, and summary of the contest.
