At the beginning of August this year, the Mayor of Myszków received information about a nuisance odor coming from the fields of Mrzygłód. After investigating the matter, the City Guard passed on information about the situation to the owner of the land, which is the County Starostwo. At the same time, Mayor J. Romaniuk sent a letter to the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection in Katowice, Branch in Częstochowa, to investigate the situation.
On October 1, 2009, the City of Myszków received a response from the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection in Katowice, Branch in Częstochowa, stating that “between September 10-17 of this year, they conducted an inspection of the Farm in Włodowice owned by the company AGRO-DUDA Sp. z o.o. Granówko 73 63-930 Jutrosin regarding compliance with the regulations on the use of natural fertilizers”. The Regional Inspectorate further explained that the inspection did not find any irregularities, and that the nuisance odor is a result of using natural fertilizers in the form of manure, without detecting the presence of any other waste.
Everything seems to be in order, but the residents of Mrzygłód may still have to deal with a terrible odor next year or maybe even in the spring.
