From the beach safely

Winter is slowly coming to an end, but the dangers associated with it are not over yet. The daily thawing and cold nights make our roofs not completely safe. It may be worth taking a closer look at them, and we definitely need to pay attention to the hanging icicles.

The Professional Fire Brigade will help in public utility buildings, with volunteer firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Brigade units from Nowa Wies, Mrzyglod, and Myszkow removing winter hazards starting from February 17th and continuing until the job is done.

On February 18th, the Mayor of Myszkow, Janusz Romaniuk, issued an order regarding the obligation to remove snow and ice from buildings, which paragraph 1 states: “Owners, managers, and administrators of buildings are obliged to monitor the snow or ice cover on roofs, balconies, or other elements of buildings. In cases of local accumulation of snow or ice, as well as icicles and overhangs that may pose a threat to the safety of the building or people nearby, snow, icicles, and overhangs should be removed immediately”…

Heavy, wet snow covering the roofs of our homes and hanging icicles are undoubtedly a huge threat to ourselves and our loved ones. It’s worth keeping this in mind.
