Junior high school student from “trojka” a double award winner

487 junior high school students in the Silesian Voivodeship received the title of laureate of subject competitions organized by the Silesian Education Superintendent in the 2015/2016 school year, among them was a student from Gimnazjum Nr 3 im. Cypriana Kamila Norwida in Myszkow – Karol Knysak. The student from “Trójka” became a laureate twice – in chemistry (supervisor: Anna Durka) and Polish language (supervisor: Izabela Kochel).
To honor the particularly talented youth, gala events for the laureates of provincial subject competitions for junior high school students from our region were organized. On April 4th, at the Central School of the State Fire Brigade in Częstochowa, certificates and gifts were presented to the students by Urszula Bauer, the Silesian Education Superintendent. The Superintendent also thanked the school directors and teachers who prepared the students for the competitions. 79 students and 44 school directors were invited to the gala in Częstochowa.
– You are the best among the best. Achieving the title of laureate is your true success and a reason for pride for your teachers and parents – said Urszula Bauer during the meeting with the laureates. The Superintendent also directed words of thanks to the teachers who inspire the youth with their passion and curiosity about the world, motivating the students to learn and make an effort.
687 junior high school students participated in all subject competitions for junior high school students in the 2015/2016 school year, which accounts for 97% of all junior high schools in the Silesian Voivodeship. The competitions are highly popular among the junior high school students. In total, in twelve competitions organized by the Silesian Education Superintendent, we recorded over 37,000 student participations in the school stage. Most of the laureate titles were won by third-grade students – 346 titles, 123 by second-grade students, and 15 by first-grade students.
During the ceremony, the Silesian Superintendent Urszula Bauer extended special thanks to the directors and coordinators of the Regional Teacher Training Centers “WOM”, who are co-organizers of the competitions. Each of the four organized galas was enriched by lectures from the research staff of the University of Silesia.
