There are two days left to apply for a school starter pack, so that the benefit payment can still be made in September. Submitting an application for the “Dobry start” program by the end of August guarantees a payment of 300 PLN by September 30. If the application is submitted in the following months, the money will be transferred to the account within two months of submitting the application.
Throughout the country, approximately 2.9 million applications for “Dobry start” covering 4.1 million children have been submitted to ZUS. Around 4.4 million children are entitled to this benefit. The amount of benefits paid so far has exceeded 1 billion PLN for 3.7 million children.
– In the Silesian voivodeship, 324,000 applications for “Dobry Start” were submitted for nearly 450,000 children. Over 114 million PLN for a school starter pack was transferred to the accounts of parents and guardians in our voivodeship. Over 380,000 benefits have been paid out – informs Beata Kopczyńska, regional press spokesperson for ZUS in the Silesian voivodeship.
You can apply for a school starter pack from July 1 to November 30, but submitting the application by the end of August guarantees the benefit payment no later than September 30. If the application is submitted in the following months – September, October, or November – the money will be transferred to the account within two months of submitting the application. The “Dobry start” benefit is granted once a year for each child attending school between the ages of 7 and 20, and in the case of people with disabilities – up to 24 years of age.
– To receive support, you must submit an application. This can be done by the mother, father, legal guardian of the child, or actual guardian of the child (the actual guardian is a person actually caring for the child, who has applied to the family court for the adoption of the child) – the spokesperson informs.
An application for benefits for children in foster care is submitted by the foster parent, the person running a family childcare home, or the director of a care and educational institution.
Under the program, parents – regardless of income – can receive a one-time payment of 300 PLN for the purchase of textbooks, notebooks, equipment needed for students, and other necessary supplies for children studying in primary schools, high schools, vocational schools, and other educational institutions.
The application can be submitted through the ZUS Electronic Services Platform, online banking, and Emp@tia portal.
The money from the “Dobry start” program is awarded and paid out by ZUS to the bank account indicated in the application. Decisions and all notifications are provided electronically.
