Lesson of patriotism

This year’s celebrations of the Independence Day on November 11 began with a holy mass at the church of St. Stanislaus B.M., celebrated by priests – Msgr. Stefan Jachimczak and Fr. Jacek Kołodziejczyk, with the word of God addressed to the faithful by Fr. Rafał Horyń.
During the marches of the Fire Department’s orchestra from Mrzygłód, the participants walked to the monument on Kwiatkowskiego Street. “Let us draw today from the wisdom of our ancestors, who united in the fight for independence. Today’s day does not require such heroic deeds from us. However, joint action for the city will be the best fruit of our achievements in the future. Thank you all for such a large presence at today’s ceremony,” said the Mayor of the City Włodzimierz Żak. Discussions on patriotism and directions for the near future were also given by the councilor of the Silesian Voivodeship Assembly Krystyna Jasińska, the Powiat Myszkowski County Starost Dariusz Lasecki, and on behalf of the Member of the European Parliament Jadwiga Wiśniewska, Mariusz Trepka spoke. Representatives of various groups, including veterans, firefighters, police, students from schools in Myszków, entrepreneurs, scouts, associations, and organizations, laid flowers at the Monument to the Fallen for the Myszkowska Land. The ceremonies were complemented by a mini concert by the Eskadra Ensemble.
In the afternoon at the Municipal Cultural Center, the jubilee XX Provincial Patriotic Song Review took place, which had around 200 participants in the elimination stage. The Festival Jury, consisting of Tacjana Wojtkowska, Andrzej Nowak, Tomasz Wójcik, and Ireneusz Barton, awarded the Grand Prix to the Trio Sylwia Majchrzak, Sylwia Makowska, and Sebastian Łobos from Częstochowa. Representatives from Myszków achieved the following results: In the category of soloists aged 16-25: 3rd place: Angelika Krajewska – E.Kwiatkowski Schools in Myszków In the category of soloists aged 26+ (ADULTS): 1st place: Bogumiła Twardowska – Municipal Cultural Center in Myszków 2nd place: Kazimierz Czerwiński – Municipal Cultural Center in Myszków Honorable mention: Robert Machura – Myszków In the category of vocal groups aged 26+ (ADULTS): 2nd place: WULKAN Vocal Group – ATOM Song Studio at the Municipal Cultural Center in Myszków In the category of vocal-instrumental groups ADULTS: 1st place: Vocal-Instrumental Group – ATOM Song Studio at the Municipal Cultural Center in Myszków In the category of adult choirs: 3rd place: CLASSIC CHOIR – Municipal Cultural Center in Myszków In the category of singing groups: 3rd place: ESKADRA Group – Association of Veterans and Reservists of the Polish Army from Myszków.
