Let’s protect biodiversity – let’s sort waste or World Cleanup Day 2010.

The XVII International Action “Clean Up the World – POLAND 2010” will take place on September 17-19 this year, in which the significant participation of the Municipality of Myszków has already become a tradition. This year’s slogan for the action is “Protecting Biodiversity – Segregate Waste.”

As every year, all primary schools, middle schools, and kindergartens in the Myszków area will be equipped by our municipality with the necessary cleaning materials: 120, 60, and 35-liter bags and disposable gloves. We have a larger quantity of bags and gloves, so if any organizations or institutions would like to join the action, we invite them to the headquarters of the Myszków City Hall – room 261 to collect bags and determine the locations for waste storage (more information at tel. (034) 313-26-82 ext.162).

The waste collection will be handled, as every year, by the company P.U.K. SANiKO Sp. z o.o., which will collect the gathered waste and deliver it to the landfill. SANiKO will receive from the Municipality a list of waste collection points agreed upon with primary schools, middle schools, and kindergartens. Additionally, during the waste collection, priority will be given to bags gathered along roads, squares, parks, and other public places. If waste is found along the route of the garbage truck in a location other than designated, all will be collected without exception.

During the action, SANiKO, at the request of the Mayor of Myszków, will collect not only all waste gathered by the educational institutions under the municipality (kindergartens, primary schools, and middle schools) but also waste collected by high school students: General High School, School Complex No. 1, School Complex No. 2.

The person responsible for collecting and transporting the waste is Mr. Janusz Trąbski from SANiKO – tel. (034) 313-14-82 or (034) 313-23-24.

Let’s join the action and remember that the Clean Up the World action is not about cleaning up after someone who has littered, but about raising ecological awareness in our society and realizing the need to care for our planet, as we only have one. That’s why we involve everyone in the action, from the youngest – preschoolers, to the oldest.
