Magdalena Krawczuk’s photographic garden at Positive Gallery.

The Youth Culture Center in Zamość, the Positive Photography Gallery and the Zamojskie Photographic Society invite you to the first individual photography exhibition of Magdalena Krawczuk, entitled “Photographic Garden”. The vernissage will take place next Wednesday (March 13) at 17:00 in the Positive Photography Gallery located in the YCC at 20 Kamieńska Street in Zamość. Magdalena Krawczuk was born in 2008 in Zamość. From an early age, she showed a talent for art and an interest in the world around her. Even in kindergarten, she tried to transfer onto paper the images she remembered from playtime and walks. She developed her painting talent from the second grade of primary school under the supervision of Wioletta Brzozowska as a participant in art classes at the Youth Culture Center named after Kornel Makuszyński in Zamość. It was here that she switched crayons for brushes and paper for canvas. Her work was highly praised not only by teachers, but also by members of the juries of inter-school and inter-city competitions. Her pieces were frequently exhibited in the local gallery and awarded with both diplomas and material prizes. Magda often took photos of objects, plants, and animals, which later served as the basis for her paintings. At some point, she noticed that taking photos and capturing nature as it is in the moment gave her as much joy as painting. In the seventh grade of primary school, she asked her parents for a camera and signed up for photography classes. Working with a group of people with similar interests, Magda quickly achieved a high level of photography. In her first year of photography studies, her work was entered into the “Photo of the Year” competition in the “youth” category. She received an honorable mention. Magda’s work was also frequently praised and exhibited in the galleries “POSITIVE” and “STYLISH” in Zamość. The plants presented in the author’s photographs are beautiful and metaphorical images, telling stories of passing and the uncertainty that accompanies it – this is the extraordinary “Photographic Garden”. The exhibition is the author’s first individual project. The works were done under the direction of Andrzej Pogudza. The exhibition was organized thanks to the financial support of the City of Zamość.
