May 2nd is Flag Day.

The Upper House of Parliament, the Senate of the Republic of Poland, established May 2nd as the Day of the White Eagle by resolution on February 12, 2004. The Sejm changed it to the Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland. In this way, one of the national symbols, the white and red flag, has had its own holiday for eight years now. Let us make sure it hangs not only on the buildings of various institutions but also adorns our homes.

May 2nd is also celebrated as the Day of Polonia and Poles abroad. Countries like Argentina, the United States, Finland, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Lithuania, and China also celebrate Flag Day.

Tomorrow, however, is Constitution Day. The Mayor of the City invites all residents to a Holy Mass for the Homeland at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mijaczów.
