After a year of effort, a Public Music School of the first degree was established at Primary School No. 7 in Będusz. This idea is an antidote to the decreasing number of primary school students. In such a situation, a year earlier there was a “fourth grade” in Cisówka. Thanks to the joint efforts of the “Creative” Association and the mayor Włodzimierz Żak, a class for autistic children was established there.
– By opening the music school today, we prove that despite the demographic decline, it is possible to find an alternative for schools. Last year in SP 4, we opened a class for autistic children with very good facilities. Today, in another institution, we open a music school. There was no agreement to close these two schools, and that’s good. It’s also good that providence showed me a completely different path, and thanks to the support of many people, both through the work of officials and the contribution of sponsors, we can be proud today of having two unique institutions in the county. I wish you, dear future musicians, that this first-degree school becomes the beginning of a beautiful musical adventure. May these first notes be the prelude to a great international career benefiting the promotion of our city – said Mayor Żak at the opening of the Music School on September 1.
All students came with their parents to the opening ceremony. The narrow corridor barely accommodated the attendees. – I must admit that we believed that it will be possible to open such a school here. All the more, I am delighted as the parish priest that our school will not only be closed but that it has gained new students. I thank the mayor for solving the problem in this way – said Father Adam Mikoś, who blessed the classrooms, instruments, and the entire school. The ceremony was also attended by Jerzy Sieczka, the visitor of the artistic center in Katowice, Izabela Wasążnik – Plant Manager of Weir Gabbioneta (the company donated money for the purchase of instruments), Mariola Tabaki and Jacek Trynda, Councilors of the City Council, Marzanna Wieczorek, Director at MZEASiP, Jolanta Brzdąk – headmistress of SP7. The ceremony was enhanced by the violin performance of Patrycja Słomczyńska from Myszków.
