The volleyball players of SPS Modeko Brzeg Dolny clearly defeated KPS Pharaoh Ziębice and SKSM Adrenaline Sobótka in the last two matches of the Lower Silesian Men’s First League regular round. Now they are preparing for the league semifinal, where they will face BTS Elektros Bolesławiec. The last two matches of SPS Modeko Brzeg Dolny took place in the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Brzeg Dolny. On February 24, the Dolnośląskie volleyball players defeated KPS Pharaoh Ziębice 3:0 (25:19, 25:15, 25:17), and on March 2, they won 3:0 against the team of SKSM Adrenaline Sobótka (25:14, 25:12, 25:22). “We were the clear favorites of these matches and deservedly won them. We knew that being the league leader, we couldn’t afford to lose to teams from the bottom half of the table. KPS Pharaoh Ziębice did not set any conditions for us. In the match with SKSM Adrenaline Sobótka, we confidently won the first two sets, but in the third, our game seemed to be too relaxed. Ultimately, we did what we set out to do and won the match without losing a set,” says SPS Modeko coach Mariusz Dutkiewicz. Szymon Kopaczewski was chosen as the MVP of the match against KPS Pharaoh Ziębice, while Patryk Michalczyk became the MVP of the meeting with SKSM Adrenalin Sobótka. Now the SPS Modeko team has a two-week break, and then the semifinal of the Cutline Lower Silesian Men’s First League, where on March 16 and 17, the volleyball players from Brzeg Dolny will face the BTS Elektros Bolesławiec team. “I don’t hide the fact that our goal is simply victory, nothing more. I don’t see any other possibility than winning both matches against Bolesławiec and advancing to the final,” adds the coach of the Dolnośląskie volleyball players. Wojciech Medyński.
