Passersby and Ciszówka from the European Union Funds

On July 6, 2009, the city of Myszków received the largest grant from the European Union in its history. We are the only city in the Myszków district that will invest only 1,882,542 PLN of its own funds in a very large and necessary investment for the residents of the city of Myszków.

Mr. Franciszek Procek, Deputy President of the Management Board of the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, in the presence of Witold Klimza, Head of the European Funds Department at the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, officials of the Myszków City Hall: Marek Borowik – Secretary of the City Council, Wojciech Chrapek – Head of the City Development Department, Andrzej Hagno – Head of the Municipal Infrastructure and Investment Department, Małgorzata Kitali-Miroszewska, and representatives of the local press: Magdalena Ryziuk – Kurier Jurajski, Jarosław Mazanek – Gazeta Myszkowska, and Krzysztof Suliga – Polska Dziennik Zachodni, handed over the decision of the Minister of Environment to Mayor Janusz Romaniuk to grant 9,258,492.79 PLN in grants from the Cohesion Fund for the construction of sanitary and stormwater sewage systems. The application, submitted by the municipality of Myszków for the competition “Organization of water and sewage management in the city of Myszków stages I and II,” passed three stages of positive assessment.

Assessment stages:
The first stage is a formal assessment by the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, the second – a substantive assessment of the first degree by the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, the third – a substantive assessment of the second degree by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw. The total project cost is 16,716,304 PLN gross, while the qualifying cost, i.e. the refundable amount, is 14,880,252 PLN. After converting the interest, the entire investment may cost our city 1,882,542 PLN.

Implementation:
The project was divided into two stages. The first one includes the streets: Mrzygłodzka, Krótka, Jedwabna, Różana, Odlewnicza. The implementation of this stage is from December 2009 to the end of the first quarter of 2010. The second stage includes the streets: Korczak, Lotnicza, Powstańców Styczniowych, Wojska Polskiego, Lipowa, Dywizjonu 303, with implementation from February 2010 to the fourth quarter of 2011. In these areas, sanitary sewers – 6.7 km and supplemented storm sewers – 0.8 km will be made. A sewage network, 6 pumping stations, and 1 settler separator will be built. 1419 people will be connected to the sanitary sewer system.

It all began…
Work on the project began in 2007, with the first document being an assessment of the project’s impact on the natural environment. The Municipal Infrastructure and Investment Department was responsible for the technical documentation of the project. The entire application with appendices was prepared by the City Development Department, led by Wojciech Chrapek.
