On Saturday, August 8, a ceremony commemorating the 82nd anniversary of the execution of 36 residents of Żywocice and nearby villages by Nazi occupiers took place at the Monument of Tragedy in Żywocice. The city of Cieszyn was represented by Mayor Gabriela Staszkiewicz and the Chairman of the City Council, Janusz Kołder.
