“Polish Dances Review” performed by preschoolers

On November 14, 2018, Preschool No. 1 “Bajka” in Myszków was the organizer of the event at MDK entitled “Review of Polish Dances” – 11th edition. Until now, these were dance competitions, but this year, due to a very important moment, namely the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence, it took on a slightly different form, namely the Review of Polish Dances. The ceremony took place under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Myszków, Włodzimierz Żak. The goals of the event were: – Interpreschool integration, – Shaping patriotic feelings, national identity, developing respect for national symbols, – Nurturing and cultivating Polish dances from various parts of our country, – Honoring the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence, – Giving children satisfaction in being Polish and patriots. Participating in the Review were preschools and preschool departments: Preschool No. 1 “Bajka”, Preschool No. 2, Preschool No. 3, Preschool No. 5 named after Maria Konopnicka, Preschool Department at Primary School No. 2, Preschool Department at Primary School No. 5.

The ceremony was opened by the hosts. Children from the “Jabłuszka” group, with a short history lesson, reminded why Poland was not on the map for many years and sang moving patriotic songs, while children from the “Krasnoludki” group danced the “Polonaise”. All invited guests, audience, and participants of the Review sang our national anthem together.

After the official part, there was a dance review. All participants presented themselves at a very high level. For their involvement and beautiful dance, preschool groups were awarded diplomas and gifts, presented by Mayor Włodzimierz Żak and the director of Preschool No. 1 “Bajka” in Myszków, Barbara Cupiał, while the teachers preparing the children for the event received thanks. The organizers of the “Review of Polish Dances” extend warm thanks to all institutions that took part in this important initiative for shaping patriotic attitudes, as well as to teachers, parents, and all individuals who helped and were involved in organizing the event.
