“Strength is a woman” is an event within the Campaign 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence organized by the Interdisciplinary Team in Brzeg Dolny. The Interdisciplinary Team in Brzeg Dolny invites you to an event called “Strength is a woman – we play for women”, which will take place at the headquarters of the Municipal Library “Tama” in Brzeg Dolny, at 16 Wyspiańskiego Street, on December 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign is dedicated to supporting and coordinating work aimed at eliminating gender-based violence at the local, national, and international levels. The campaign runs from November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to December 10 – International Human Rights Day. These two dates were chosen to symbolically highlight the link between violence against women and the violation of human rights, emphasizing that violence against women is a human rights violation. The aim of the campaign in the municipality of Brzeg Dolny is to draw attention to the phenomenon of violence against women within the local community and to raise awareness that gender-based violence is a violation of human rights. During the event, there will be an opportunity to receive consultations on combating domestic violence from members of the Interdisciplinary Team. The event will also be an opportunity to award prizes in the art competition “Strength is a woman”, aimed at students from local schools. The musical accompaniment will be provided by students from the Vocational School and High School in Brzeg Dolny.
