“Princess” hat tricks

04/09/24 She did it again! Oliwia Szczerska returned from another national tournament with three gold medals. Our talented badminton player dominated the competition in Częstochowa, winning in the individual competition, in doubles, and in mixed doubles. This is already the second “hat-trick” for the representative of MMKS Kędzierzyn-Koźle this year.
Despite being only 11 years old, Oliwia successfully competes in the U13 category, competing against older athletes. Over the course of two days, our player played 15 matches, not losing a single one. In addition to her individual success, she also stood on the highest step of the podium in doubles with Nina Wierzban from Krakow, and in mixed doubles with Aleksander Skóra from Niepołomice.
Coach Tomasz Zioło can also be proud of the performances of his other players. While Oliwia was playing decisive matches on Sunday, a tournament for the U11 category began simultaneously. Three of her younger teammates competed, with Marcel Wiesiołek reaching the podium with a bronze medal and Wiktor Kiebzak winning gold. Paweł Mrozek finished in 5th place.
Our whole trio of medalists will soon compete in an international tournament in Bolzano, Italy.
