“Promoter of Myszkow” for the sixth time

Yesterday, on February 8th this year, another, sixth New Year’s Gala of the “Promoter of Myszków” award took place at the City Cultural Center. The host of the gala was the Mayor of Myszków, Włodzimierz Żak.

Among the guests invited by the mayor were, among others, Member of the Polish Parliament Jadwiga Wiśniewska, the Myszków District Starost Leon Okraska, Deputy Starost Jan Kieras, the director of the Hospital Wojciech Picheta, city councilors, office employees, presidents of municipal companies, directors of subordinate units, and above all entrepreneurs and cultural and sports figures, the main recipients of the “Promoter of Myszków” award. The gala was hosted by Marta Kozińska from the City Cultural Center in Myszków.

The ceremony began with a short presentation of previous winners of the “Promoter of Myszków” award. There were also cultural performances by students of the Non-Public First Degree Music School in Myszków, under the supervision of Mr. Andrzej Nowak.

This year’s Mayor’s “Promoter of Myszków 2010” award was received by Polimer II for sustainable development, the highest quality of offered products, and recreational and sports activities promoting the city, as well as Tribag for promoting the city and region through contributions to sports development and social activities. The awards were received by Roman Garncarz, the owner of Polimer, and Maciej Borecki, the investment director of Tribag.

The economy is a very important part of our lives, but we must not forget about aesthetic experiences and emotions, i.e., about culture and sports. “Promoter of Myszków 2010” in the field of sports was awarded to Piotr Magiera, a multiple winner of long-distance running, one of the best athletes in our country in half marathons. The award was accepted on behalf of the laureate by Włodzimierz Rzetelski, the president of LKS Myszków, in whose colors Piotr Magiera achieves success.

The “Promoter of Myszków 2010” award in the field of culture was given to Mrs. Maria Wosik, a art teacher and longtime instructor at the Young Artists Club at the City Cultural Center in Myszków. The enormous work put into shaping the personalities of young artists in Myszków has made the city present on the artistic map of Poland.

After the official part, there was an opportunity for networking and exchanging views. The New Year’s Meeting is a good opportunity to thank everyone for their cooperation and to wish them all the best in the new year ahead.
