Applications submitted by the authorities of Myszków last year received positive evaluations of projects co-financed from the funds of the Northern Subregion Development Program. These include projects for revitalizing the market in Mrzygłód, building solar collectors on the MOSiR building, and constructing the Myszków Center for Economic Initiatives on the site of the early 20th-century factory halls on Kościuszki Street.
For the latter of these projects, a guaranteed EU grant of 1,193,548.88 PLN was secured, to which the City Council “did not want to contribute”. Therefore, a private investor was sought who committed to building trade halls using their own funds. As a result, it became impossible to use the grant for this project. Consequently, Mayor of Myszków, Janusz Romaniuk, appealed to partners and representatives of the Northern Subregion and the Marshal’s Office to reallocate this grant to the revitalization project of the Mrzygłód market, a significant part of which involves constructing a stormwater drainage system.
