On Monday afternoon, there were four road accidents. The police remind everyone to obey traffic regulations, reduce speed, and maintain increased distance from the car ahead. The first accident occurred on Aleja Wojska Polskiego. – A 43-year-old man driving a Mercedes most likely did not adjust his speed to the current conditions and rear-ended a Toyota, which had stopped in front of other vehicles before the intersection. As a result of the collision, the Toyota then hit the Mercedes in front of it, and the Mercedes hit the Peugeot in front of it. As a result of this incident, the 20-year-old driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital with injuries – reports Justyna Jaśkiewicz from the Radom police.
The next incident took place in Niemianowice. According to preliminary findings, a 20-year-old driving a Volkswagen did not adjust his speed to the current conditions and rear-ended an Opel, which had stopped to give way to cars coming from the opposite direction and then make a left turn into a property. The 51-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen was taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, on Sycyńska Street in Radom, a 75-year-old man driving a Mercedes hit a 34-year-old pedestrian on a pedestrian crosswalk. The man was taken to the hospital.
In Sucha, a 25-year-old driving an Audi did not adjust his speed to the current traffic conditions, lost control of the car, went off the road, hit an electricity pole, damaged the fences of two properties, and then hit a parked car on one of them. As a result of this incident, the driver was taken to the hospital in Radom. The driver of this car does not have a valid driver’s license and was under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of nearly one per mil – Jaśkiewicz reports.
The police remind everyone that the changing autumn weather, including rainfall, limits visibility and makes the road wet and slippery. Every driver should be aware that under such conditions, it is very easy to lose control of the vehicle and the braking distance is significantly longer.
