On September 6, 2008, the VI Family Abstinent Meeting took place in Leśniowie. The meeting, organized by the Abstinent Mutual Aid Club “Jedność”, was attended by 350 people from various abstinent clubs in the Śląskie Voivodeship.
In addition to the club’s invitation, the following guests also attended: Member of the Polish Sejm Jadwiga Wiśniewska, Councillor of the Śląskie Voivodeship Assembly Andrzej Hutnik, Mayor of the City of Myszkow Janusz Romaniuk, Councillor Krystyna Morawiec, Head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sport Krystyna Jasińska, and Director of the Municipal Social Welfare Center Agnieszka Ludwig.
The club’s joint baking session was preceded by a Holy Mass at the Leśniowski Sanctuary, which was attended by the invited guests.
During the meeting, there was a consultation point where a lawyer, psychologist, and therapist provided advice on addiction treatment. There were also contests with prizes for the youngest participants of the meeting.
