Before the election runoff, the candidates for the mayor of Brzeg do not lose hope. Both of them talk about a satisfying result in the first round and encourage residents to go to the polls again. Mayor Jerzy Wrębiak, who was supported by almost every third voter on Sunday, argues that his result reflects support for his policies.
“After 10 years, this is very encouraging for me, because we have managed to do a lot. I think this assessment is positive and I am very happy about it. I would like to build above divisions. Be a mayor for everyone and I hope that in the second round I will also encourage those who were not convinced yet to vote.”
Violetta Jaskólska-Palus received 20.7% of the votes in the first round. The candidate points out that this result shows that the residents of Brzeg want change.
“I have 2 weeks of difficult and hard work ahead of me. We are already working on building a broad coalition with my fellow candidates who ran in opposition to the current mayor, and I think that in 2 weeks we will conclude it.”
