The city of Myszków has started working on the preparation of the Low Emission Economy Plan, which is a strategic document enabling the application for funding from the European Union for environmental protection and energy efficiency tasks in the years 2014-2020. The Low Emission Economy Plan is meant to help achieve the goals set in the climate-energy package for 2020 (e.g. reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and increase in the share of energy from renewable sources). Besides macro-level benefits, the Plan is intended to serve all residents of the city by improving air quality and reducing energy costs. The city of Myszków has applied to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw for funding for this project. Under Action 9.3 “Thermal modernization of public utility buildings – low emission economy plans,” it has received a non-refundable grant covering 85% of the preparation costs. Following the tendering process, a specialized company – Centrum Doradztwa Energetycznego Sp. z o.o. – was selected to assist in its development.
