At the finish line are the reconstruction works of provincial roads 791 (Myszków bypass) and 793 (Żarki-Myszków road).
On October 18, the voivodeship authorities, the Provincial Roads Board, together with the authorities of the municipalities of Żarki and Myszków, entrepreneurs, directors, and media, visited both roads.
“We have reduced noise levels, the new technologies applied here ensure durability after reconstruction for a minimum of 30 years,” said Zbigniew Tabor, President of the Provincial Roads Board in Katowice. The reconstruction of provincial road 793 between Żarki and Myszków was carried out for 36.4 million PLN, of which approximately 30.8 million came from EU funds under the Regional Operational Program. The remaining amount comes from the budget of the Silesian Voivodeship – said Marta Salwierak, a councilor of the Silesian Voivodeship Council.
Over a distance of 5.4 km, a new surface was created along with the entire road structure, two-sided sidewalks, and the Myszków Bypass was built over a distance of 8.4 km, with a total cost of over 93 million PLN, with 85% co-financing.

“When I became the mayor eight years ago, the first steps were directed to me by Mayor Klemens Podlejski from Żarki, who proposed a joint trip to Katowice to once again take action on the repair of the road between Myszków and Żarki. Klemens Podlejski ‘lead’ this road. And in addition to new road infrastructure, we in Myszków also gained a new sewage system,” said Włodzimierz Żak, mayor of Myszków.
Drivers, residents, cyclists, and pedestrians are practically already benefiting from the new infrastructure. Years of efforts have brought the expected effect – said Mayor Klemens Podlejski of the City and Municipality of Żarki, thanking everyone for their patience and inconvenience during the renovation.
