On June 21, for the fourth time, the exceptional “Fern Flower Run” took place, becoming a permanent fixture in the calendar of the region’s most important sports and recreational events. This year’s edition once again gathered hundreds of participants and entire families who came to the Sarbia Forestry District to experience a day full of sports emotions, joy, and closeness to nature. The fourth edition shows that thanks to excellent organization, a unique atmosphere, and unparalleled forest trails, participants eagerly return to Sarbia, with athletes coming from all over the Wielkopolska region to participate. The immense interest was also confirmed by the pace of registrations – race packets sold out quickly, and the limit of 300 spots was reached in a short time. Despite demanding conditions, high temperatures, and muggy weather, which posed an additional challenge for all participants, there was no shortage of smiles and good energy. Due to the heat, proper hydration was crucial – large amounts of water were consumed on the routes and in rest zones, which both athletes and their families willingly took advantage of. In response to the weather conditions, organizers also set up additional water points to ensure participants could regularly replenish fluids and increase comfort and safety during the run. As a result, athletes were better able to cope with the high temperatures and focus on the sports competition. Especially the youngest participants showed immense spirit and sports engagement – they overcame their distances with determination and enthusiasm, not giving up despite fatigue and heat. The exemplary cooperation between the Sports and Recreation Center in Czarnków and the Sarbia Forestry District, State Forests, based on commitment, experience, and joint action, once again translated into the organization of the event at the highest level. Special thanks are directed to the Sarbia Forestry District, which as a co-organizer and host of the event created unique conditions for active recreation. The picturesque forest trails leading through areas of high natural value allowed participants to feel a unique closeness to nature and discover the charms of local forests. It is this combination of sport and nature that sets the “Fern Flower Run” apart from other events and attracts more and more outdoor activity enthusiasts. Thanks are also extended to the co-organizers and event partners: UKS Jedynka Czarnków, Czarnków-Trzcianki County, and the Czarnków Municipality, whose support, commitment, and joint work played a huge role in the organization of the event and the creation of a special atmosphere on that day. Participants could choose from several competitions – children’s and youth races, 5 and 10-kilometer distances, and a Nordic Walking march. At the finish line, special prizes awaited all participants – beautiful medals made of solid wood, and spectacular trophies and prizes were prepared for the best athletes in each category. After the sports emotions, participants could relax at a well-prepared regenerative refreshment, which was an opportunity for conversations, integration, and the joint celebration of successes. There were attractive race packs, educational stands, and numerous attractions for the whole family. It is worth noting that the undertaking was co-financed by the funds of the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poznań. Thanks to the support received, it was possible to better prepare the event, combine sport with ecological education and the promotion of an active lifestyle, as well as fund attractive rewards for participants and winners in each category. The IV “Fern Flower Run” once again proved that thanks to the commitment of the organizers, co-organizers, and the exceptional location, an event can be created that remains in the participants’ memories for a long time.
