From 23.02-02.03.2019, students from Primary School with Integrative Classes No. 5, along with their guardians, went to Hernan Cortez, Spain. This trip was an opportunity to meet peers from all partner countries as part of the Enhancing Book Reading project.
Students engaged in conversations in English, participated in literary activities with a Spanish poet, presented scenarios of excerpts from national novels by writers. They were able to compare the duties of Polish children to the duties of their Spanish peers, learned about traditions and customs of the Extremadura region through household tasks, games, dance, singing, and excursions. They visited the Monfrague National Park, which has a special bird protection zone and is recognized as a UNESCO biosphere reserve. A bike tour of Seville, the capital of the Andalusia region, was also noteworthy, where they had the opportunity to visit the famous Alcazar palace, a filming location for the series “Game of Thrones.”
In the mobility, students from class Vd took part: Maja Męcik, Wiktoria Bebel, Agata Rębisz, Magdalena Zmarzlik, Kinga Wychowaniec, Piotr Paliga, and Szymon Kurowski from class VE. The youth were supervised by Ms. Justyna Paliga and Joanna Rutkowska.
In May of this year, students from Primary School with Integrative Classes No. 5, along with their guardians, went to the beautiful town by the Tyrrhenian Sea in Italy, to Formia. This trip was an opportunity to meet peers from all partner countries: Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Romania, and Italy, and to summarize the two-year collaboration on the project “We Smile.”
Together, students took final actions, engaged in conversations in English, participated in dance, vocal and musical activities. They also attempted to learn the Italian Neapolitan tarantella, got to know the traditions and customs of southern Italy. Noteworthy was the ferry trip to the island of Ventotene. During the last evening, all participants received certificates of participation in the project. We hope that the friendships formed will not end with the project, and that memories and music will accompany us for years to come.
