In the city, adders have appeared. These unwelcome guests have been seen in the Borów area, near the pool on Graniczna Street and on Parkowa Street. In these areas, the City Council has put up signs warning about the dangers. Also, in these places, if the roadside was mowed, the grass will not be collected. These adders are under protection and besides warnings, no radical measures can be taken.
The venom of adders is a mixture of several toxins with various effects – damaging the nervous system, causing tissue necrosis, decreasing blood clotting, and affecting heart rhythm. After biting the skin of the victim, two characteristic wounds remain. The bite is particularly dangerous for children and elderly people. Let’s be extra careful!
