The third edition of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) program, “My Water,” has been launched, which is aimed at mitigating the effects of drought and preventing building inundations in Poland. Owners of single-family homes can receive grants of up to 6,000 PLN for the construction of rainwater harvesting systems. In previous editions of the program, over 6,000 beneficiaries received grants only in the Silesian Voivodeship.
The “My Water” program helps protect Polish water resources by increasing retention at single-family and commercial buildings and utilizing collected rainwater and snowmelt. The way to achieve this goal is by providing funding to individuals (households) for the construction of domestic “small retention” systems on private properties.
