On March 19, 2008, the Mayor of the City of Myszków, Janusz Romaniuk, visited the City Office of the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and current Member of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek.
The meeting, which was attended by numerous invited guests (entrepreneurs, councilors, and county authorities), focused on “The place of Polish business in the European Union with particular emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises.” Member Buzek discussed the issue of SMEs in the European Union, emphasizing their significant role in the community and the Union’s policies towards this sector of business. Following his presentation, Member Buzek happily answered questions from the attending guests and encouraged local entrepreneurs to cooperate with local government in the increasingly functional public-private partnership.
Since 2004, Prof. Jerzy Buzek has been a Member of the European Parliament. He works in the Committees for Industry, Research and Energy, Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, and Climate Change Prevention, as well as in the Delegation for relations with countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
