XXXVII International Race of Five Ponds

On June 12, 2016, the XXXVII International Five Lakes Run took place. The main organizer of the run was the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Myszków in cooperation with the City Office and the District Starosty in Myszków.
Approximately 434 participants took part in the event. Among them were active athletes, amateur athletes, marathon runners, students, teachers, and Nordic walking enthusiasts. Also, a group of runners from the friendly city of Koprivnice in the Czech Republic participated in the run. Once again in the history of our event, we launched a website with information about the run and the possibility of signing up electronically. Electronic registrations were open until June 8th. Each participant received a commemorative t-shirt and a voucher for a hot meal in their starting package, and upon completing the run, each participant received a commemorative medal at the finish line.
At 9:00 am, the event was officially opened, and at exactly 9:15 am, the first race for preschoolers over 100 meters began. Subsequent races took place according to the minute-by-minute program, approximately every 10 minutes: primary schools, middle schools, and high schools.
At 11:30 am, the main 10 km run started, followed by the Nordic walking category 5 minutes later. A total of approximately 196 participants signed up for the main run and Nordic walking. Among those participating in the main run was the Mayor of Myszków, Włodzimierz Żak.
The winner of the main run in the open category was Zbigniew Kalinowski (Zabiegani Częstochowa, time 35:59), second place went to Cyprian Tomza (CKS Budowlani, time 36:42), and third place was taken by Dariusz Starzyński (time 37:06). Among the women, the fastest at the finish line was Mariola Sojda (CKS Budowlani Częstochowa time 41:12), followed by Tamara Koczur (time 44:49) in second place, and Agnieszka Janocha (Ambitni Amatorzy Myszków, time 45:26) in third place.
The winner of Nordic Walking in the open category was Grzegorz Dors (RTB TRACKER PODKOWA JANÓW, time 01:03:59), second place went to Rafał Kozik (RTB TRACKER PODKOWA JANÓW, time 01:04:05), and third place was taken by Henryk Kwiecień (Myszków, time 01:08:32). Among the women, the fastest at the finish line was Angelika Pietrzyk (time 01:12:06), followed by Aleksandra Radosz (RTB TRACKER PODKOWA JANÓW, time 01:15:30) in second place, and Marzena Wrona (time 01:21:30) in third place.
After the races, the best male and female athletes were awarded, with prizes and medals presented by: Mayor Włodzimierz Żak, Director of MOSiR Myszków Piotr Wysocki, Chairman of the City Council Jerzy Woszczyk, and a Member of the District Starosty Board Rafał Kępski.
