On April 17, 2015, the 3rd County English Song Contest “YOU CAN SING” took place at the MDK in Myszków under the patronage of the mayor of Myszków. The contest is organized by Primary School No. 1 named after Adam Mickiewicz. The contest was prepared and led by English teacher Mariola Marek. This year, 14 participants from 10 primary schools in the Myszków county took part in the contest. An independent jury consisting of English teacher Aneta Stępińska-Matyja, music choreographer Katarzyna Miklas, and musicians Sebastian Ruciński and Tomasz Wójcik evaluated:
– vocal qualities
– interpretation
– interesting repertoire selection
– musicality and sense of rhythm
– diction and language correctness
– costume selection to match the song’s character
– overall artistic expression
and awarded the following places:
1st place: Lilu Policińska from SP in Żarki Letnisko, “Almost there” by Anika Noni Rose from the movie “Princess and the Frog”, supervisor Mrs. Małgorzata Ludwik
2nd place: Anna Struzik from SP No. 2, “Little Red Riding Hood”, supervisor Mrs. Barbara Ośkiewicz
3rd place: Marta Stefanik from SP No. 6, “Here I am”, supervisor Mrs. Krystyna Jasińska
All participants received diplomas and gifts from Macmillan Publishing, while the winners received diplomas and multimedia equipment as prizes. Congratulations to all and we invite you next year – the contest organizer SP No. 1.
