A 56-year-old woman driving a Citroen collided with the trailer of a heavy-duty truck and then with a street lamp. The accident took place at the intersection of Starowiejska and Legionów streets in Zamość. The incident occurred on Thursday at around 11:00. – Police officers determined the course of the collision, indicating that the driver of the Citroen was driving along Starowiejska street. At the intersection with Legionów street, she turned right. At that time, the driver of the Scania heavy-duty vehicle was driving along Legionów street towards Kilińskiego street, going straight through the intersection using the right lane designated for turning into Starowiejska street – informs Dorota Krukowska – Bubiło, the spokesperson for the Zamość police. – The driver of the Citroen, entering the intersection, did not yield the right of way to the driver of the heavy-duty vehicle, hitting the aluminum cover of the trailer. The force of the impact then pushed the car out of the lane, causing the driver to hit a street lamp. – she adds. The 56-year-old resident of Zamość, driving the car, was taken to the hospital. After examinations, the woman left the facility with minor bruises from the collision. The Scania was driven by a 49-year-old man from the Węgrowski poviat. A police breathalyzer test showed that the drivers were sober. – We are clarifying the exact circumstances of the collision. The gathered evidence will be sent to the court, which will determine who will be responsible for causing a hazard in traffic – concludes the spokesperson.
