ZUS begins the first payments of the school trousseau.

On July 18th of this year, the payment of the so-called “school starter kit” under the “Good Start” program begins. ZUS is once again granting the “300+” benefit for students. It is estimated that over 4.4 million students will benefit from the program this year.

Applications for the “Good Start” benefit for the 2022/2023 school year can be submitted from July 1, 2022, to November 30, 2022. Like in the previous edition, applications can only be submitted electronically through three channels: the Electronic Services Platform (PUE ZUS), electronic banking system, and the Emp@tia portal. Currently, the first information about the benefit granted has been sent to ZUS clients and posted on the PUE ZUS portal. – In the following days, further decisions on granting the benefit will be sent out successively. Notification of such information being posted on PUE will be sent to the email address provided by the applicant in the application – informs Beata Kopczyńska, the regional spokesperson for ZUS in the Silesian Voivodeship.

ZUS has granted the first several hundred thousand benefits. The first funds will be transferred to parents and guardians on July 18, 2022. The money will be transferred to the bank account specified by the client in the application within 5 working days of granting the benefit. – In case there is a need for clarifying proceedings, clients will receive a request to supplement the applications, which will be posted on the client’s profile on the PUE ZUS portal, with the applicant being informed by an SMS sent to the phone number provided in the application – explains the spokesperson.

ZUS has until September 30, 2022, to process applications for the “Good Start” benefit submitted by August 31.

Last year, in the Silesian Voivodeship, 375,000 applications were received for nearly half a million children, with the amount of benefits paid for the school starter kit exceeding 148 million PLN. This year, by July 6, 80,000 applications were received from the Silesian Voivodeship for almost 110,000 children.
