The Center of Oncology in Bydgoszcz has decided to purchase specialized equipment for the radiation therapy of cancer patients. The MR Accelerator is the first device of its kind in Poland and the fourth in Europe.
MR Accelerator – hope for the sick
The existing problem in diagnosing and treating cancerous diseases largely stems from the fact that the affected soft tissues do not differ in structure from healthy ones. However, they have different physiological characteristics. Scientists and doctors hope that the use of MR technology will result in much more precise focusing of the radiation to which the changes are subjected. A significant benefit for patients is expected to be a shorter period of radiation therapy.
